Flexible Spending Accounts
If you participate in a flexible spending account through your employer, you can apply your benefits to eyeglasses, prescription sunglasses, contact lenses, contact lens solutions, and eye exams.
Contact Lens Benefits
Many health insurance plans include vision care that covers the cost of contact lenses. Check with your benefits administrator to see if your plan covers the cost of an annual eye exam and lenses.
Sunglasses and Colored Contact Lenses
Most insurance plans cover the cost of sunglasses and colored contact lenses when they include prescription lenses. They do not, however, cover non-prescription sunglasses or colored contact lenses with no prescription.
